Spring Cabbage is one of the first crops we can enjoy in the spring. To achieve this we need to plant Spring Cabbage in October and leave to overwinter.
Spring Cabbage is best sown in trays in the greenhouse or on a window sill in July or August, hardened off a bit outdoors in September, before you plant Spring Cabbage outside in October and leave to overwinter.
You could also sow directly to the soil in July or August, but you’ll get better results sowing under glass.
Spring Cabbage is a heavy-feeder, so add plenty of garden compost and/or well-rotted manure before planting. Plant 45 cm between plants and 45 cm between rows.
